She is Bollywood’s bubbly girl who seemed to have got her priorities right from her Pardes days. Meet Mahima Choudhury who was once Kurseong’s very own Ritu Choudhury and now suddenly she is everyone’s Mahima, glitzy, glam and on the go. The Pardes lady admits that the change of name has worked wonders for her. “Now I don’t need to introduce myself.
I just have to say Mahima and people know who I am. Hey, I don’t even need my surname anymore, she bubbles excitedly.
Mahima was in Kolkata on Friday to do the “Thums Up taste the thunder challenge contest. The chirpy actress was on a hurricane move to some of the happening places. Starting from Happy E Zone in Short Street, the actress had a hectic schedule moving around the city. “I am quite familiar with Kolkata. Don’t forget I have done my schooling from Kurseong and we had to come here often, she says.
Wearing a Thums Up T-shirt and a pair of blue jeans, the actress was surrounded by Xaverians since her first stop at Happy e Zone happened to be at a stone’s throw away from St Xavier’s College. “It feels good to be back but the heat is really unbearable, says Mahima.
Talking about her latest film Om Jai Jagdish, which is the first directorial venture of ace actor Anupam Kher, the actress says, “I am looking forward to the film as the character was not only interesting but it is directed by one of Bollywood’s brilliant actors.
With some powerful performances in films like Dil Kya Kare, Lajja and Dhadkan, Mahima has established her potential as an actress and has also proved that she can do any kind of films.
“The character is very important and so is the script. In Lajja, I had a small role but it was very powerful one. This is something which draws me to a film, she concludes.
